Writing Down The Arm

I came out as a teenager in the late 1970s. My writing explores the challenges and triumphs of navigating a world where being yourself is the most difficult decision you have to make. I am a writer, photographer, and educator. My partner and I live in the Chicagoland area.

My life has been enriched by immersion into the minds of generations of students. Having taught students the importance of thinking and writing down the arm, I am now turning to my own short story writing and learning how to create and develop scenes that illicit a reaction from the reader, that is both inspiring and challenging.
